i think words of encouragement from people around you really do make a huge difference. feebs made me realise that when i showed her a video i made on parkour for yzone (http://yzone.omy.sg/) - it's not up yet though - and she heard abit of my 2-hour solo radio show. she said something like, "wah, somebody can do video, radio, and write articles too hor?" wah i tell you, that made me feel good about myself instantly. made all the effort i spent on the stuffs this semester well worth it.

i thanked feebs for the encouragement when i saw her online that night, and she said, "suddenly felt my hao peng you (good friend) very talented mah". haha =P but, no matter what, there will always be room for improvement. i mean, whether it's in video editing, radio or writing articles, there are people who are doing a lot better than me, i'm sure.

but i guess, so long as i know where i am heading, that i am achieving targets i set for myself, that i don't let myself down, i dont have to be the best to know what is "fulfillment" and "contentment".

and i think i partially re-discovered why i want to go into journalism already. =) i like to see my articles get published! i feel the happiness in me, that slight tinge of happiness. haha. =P and especially when people give me positive feedback after they read my articles. maybe because i am a leo, it's in me to like to be in the limelight. haha. so perhaps, it's this attention-seeking nature that's inborn, which propelled me towards a job that can give me some form of attention. =)

but ziliang says that cant be my only reason, which is true. cos i re-discovered another one! =) when i showed the parkour video to my source, he said it looks good and thanked me profusely for portraying their self-discipline and i-cant-rmb-what just the way they wanted it expressed. honestly, i lost count of the number of times he said "thank you". i said, "no prob, it's part of my job".

to simplify it, i like the power i have with the pen to help people express certain things. who knows? maybe in future, when a larger and more impt issue is at hand, i might be able to help change things with my pen? i remember telling myself a few years back, in future, i want to go into something chinese-related, and becoming a teacher was one of my options. And so, one day, i found something i could merge the two...that's right! to become a journalist who writes in chinese! =) you see, i can still do something i like i.e. chinese and yet "inform", "educate" and "entertain" - hmm, why do these sound famliar =P, like what a teacher does too!

yay! so happy...shall continue on this journey of re-discovery. feels good i must say, to find that motivation all over again. =) remember to give some encouragement to ppl ard you. it doesnt take much of your time, and it doesnt hurt to say just that few words to help lift a person up and get him on his feet again. =D
